JUNIOR GOLF RULES (18 & UNDER)
1. An adult golfer must accompany any junior while playing golf,
unless they have passed the rules and etiquette test to become a member of the
Cherokee National Golf Club Junior Golf Association. The names of those junior
members will be posted in the golf shop.
2. The Cherokee National Junior Golf Association (CNJGA)
clinics are held in the summer months.
Junior golfers will make every effort to see
that ball marks and bunkers are repaired when they are playing.
3. No more than four players can play together unless permission is given by
the golf shop staff.
4.
Junior golfers must immediately move out of the way and allow faster players
to play through. Adult golfers have priority on the course.
5. Any display of temper that is deemed unbecoming
of a gentleman, or any act of temper that could cause damage to the golf
course or others is strictly forbidden.
6. Profane and/or vulgar language will not be tolerated.
Running, yelling, or any such act of "horseplay" on the golf course, or in
the vicinity of the golf course is not permitted.
7.
"Hanging-around" the golf shop or golf shop area is strictly forbidden.
8.
Junior Golfers must observe the dress code policy.
9.
Junior golfers do not have the privileges of adult members of the club. You
must take extra special care of the golf course to see that your spike
marks, ball marks, divots, etc. are carefully repaired.
10. Loitering in the areas of the shop, golf course, driving range, and around
the golf carts is not allowed. You are expected to set an example for all
members. In return, you are granted the right to play during specified hours
as dictated by the golf shop. Do not allow any of your fellow junior golfers
to violate any of the rules. 11. This will only result in the entire Junior Golf
Association suffering the consequences for the actions of a few. Report any
violations of the rules to the Golf Shop! Individuals ignoring any of these
rules will be suspended, WITHOUT warning!!!
12. Juniors may have a handicap in the CGA handicap system free of charge.
13. Junior golfers must have valid driving license to operate or rent
a golf cart.
14. Junior golfers are allowed to play during non-peak times unless
accompanied by an adult. Peak starting times are Saturday & Holiday mornings
and Sunday until 4pm. Juniors must always check in and sign-in at the golf shop
and get permission before teeing off.
